CHILDREN'S NUTRITION COLLECTION
You've heard it said that "it takes a village to raise a child." When you discover the Children's Nutrition Collection, you will see why "it takes a village to raise a healthy child" and you will be so grateful to these wonderful people for their work!
"All materials in the CNC were carefully selected by a Registered Dietitian working in collaboration with the Children's Librarian at the Novato Public Library. Materials were also reviewed for accuracy and appropriateness by a committee of child health professionals from the Marin County Children and Weight Coalition who share a common goal to serve the community by providing useful and practical information to improve the health and lives of Marin County residents." from the web site
A Saint Mark's parent took the lead:
Lynne Marie LoPresto, MS, RD,
Nutrition Instructor at Dominican University of CA Consultant, NUSD Wellness Grant
spent many months gathering resources that met the criteria for excellence as defined by the project.
And as if we hadn't enough to crow about, another Saint Mark's parent, Andrew Carothers, together with a fellow employee, oversaw the design of this amazing web site; it is warm, inviting and full of valuable information.
Thanks to the WWW these resources are available not only to
those of us who live in Marin County but to parents, kids, teachers and librarians all around the world. How cool is that?
